Support Division
The Evanston Police Department’s Support Division works using a team concept. Currently, the Support Division consists of 2 Community Service Officers, 1 Administrative Assistant and 1 Victim Witness Advocate.
These support services range from:
- Animal control
- Parking enforcement
- Victim/witness advocate
- VIN inspections
- Maintaining evidence
- TIPS Alcohol Server Training
- Defensive Driver Training
- Nuisance Enforcement
These are people that you will most likely contact while visiting the Evanston Police Department. With such a wide range of duties, these personnel come together to work directly with the public to perform many different functions.
Support division is also charged with writing and maintaining grants and department training. Other collateral duties include working with McGruff the crime dog, coordinating the departments car seat program and being a liaison with SAFE Kids.
